JLG, the world's top in aerial work platforms

John L. Grove founded JLG Industries in 1969. Right from the start, his intention was to offer practical solutions for specific problems in the construction world. Since then, JLG aerial work platforms have become an established value and the brand has grown into a world leader.

Aerial work platforms inspired by practice

Grove was a co-founder and worked for a renowned crane manufacturer in the United States. Through his contacts with purchasers and site managers, he discovered the proverbial gap in the market. There was clearly a strong need for a machine that could lift employees safely and quickly for construction and maintenance work. He decided to focus on the development of aerial work platforms.

1970: the first JLG aerial work platform

JLG Industries started in 1961 in McConnellsburg (Pennsylvania, USA) as a small metal processing company with about twenty employees. John L. Grove saw it as his mission to provide efficient solutions for construction professionals. In 1970, the first JLG aerial work platform was introduced. The founder passed away in 2003. He left behind a company that still grows worldwide, develops innovative products, and maintains contacts with the industry to contribute to productivity and safety.
